Snack-Design Guide

Purpose

To effectively manage and create various digital services of Samsung Card and maintain consistency and speedy production when new projects are carried out to reduce time and cost.


Challenges

Established the team for researching and testing to reflect continuously changing and evolving UX/UI trends. Provided the toolkits to create layouts and manage consistent end product files quickly and consistently. Provided the publishing sources to update structures quickly and handle errors in advance. Ran training on how to use the toolkit and source code at the kickoff meeting of the new projects.


Result

Carried out more than 2.4 times the operating project compared to the previous year after launching Snack. Publishing errors caused by different sources and forms were reduced by 62%. The production period was reduced by 71% for new projects.




What is Snack?

It launched PC/Mobile Web in May 201. Samsung Card has about 230 services and 3000 screens and eight native applications are produced and updated daily. It consists of the elements necessary to quickly and consistently carry out large-scale projects with limited resources. SNACK aids in digital product design and development of apps or websites.

Snack not only maintains the consistency of various projects that are produced simultaneously but also makes it easy and convenient to create UX/UI. It contains pattern libraries, design languages, style guides, coded components, brand languages, and documentation.






What's in Snack?

First, the design policy is introduced, and the screen is designed and planned based on it. Basic information is necessary for screen composition, such as screen size, grid, font, color, and components. Design components necessary for quick screen production are provided as sketches and Photoshop files, and the source code for essential elements is also provided to ensure consistency and easy update.
