Chase+

Purpose

Chase has 63M active users. And since we have users of all ages and genders, we need to make it easy and safe for everyone to use the app. Therefore, Chase updates the app sequentially so that all different customer groups do not have difficulty using the app.
Chase conducted a project called Chase+ to determine the North Star, the final direction of the design. As we approach this step by step, we are upgrading our design while looking at the North Star to avoid getting lost. 


Roll & Challenges

As the channels team design leader who considers the entire app's design, I had to provide design direction for Chase. Chase tokenizes all design elements, so colors, lines, icons, and all components are tokens. Therefore, the design had to be proposed considering this system.

Essential characteristics for the direction

- Saturated colors / imagery across HUBs feel unified and in harmony
- Conversational design conveys the idea that the bank is speaking directly to me
- Most important information to customer is most prominent
- Differentiated visual treatment based on segment enrolled vs prospect UI
- Persistent use of Octagon strengthens branding


Expanding our tile ecosystem

Our goal is to provide more tile options to improve the overall esthetics of our digital experiences.
By stacking tiles in different configurations it assists customers to scan and identify the of hierarchy of priorities quicker. Mix & match variants and sizes assists customers to scan and identify the of hierarchy of priorities quicker.



Consistent button ecosystem

hase has been adding styles as needed for a long time, so there are many versions of Butt and icon styles. The style of the button, which is the entry point that helps customers enter a new screen, has been unified into one consistent design. This helps increase its intuitiveness and usability so that customers can easily access it.



Modern message ecosystem

As a financial app, it is a component created to clearly communicate with customers, and has not been updated for a long time. The design was upgraded and functions were strengthened to convey and communicate important messages to customers.



How do you achieve the goals?

In order to tokenize all design elements, reflect them in the system, and then apply them to the screen, we are taking a long-term plan and taking steps one by one.
